What makes Sunfiber® special?
Sunfiber® is highly soluble in water and does not thicken. That is why it can be easily added to any meal. Sunfiber® is heat stable, which makes it suitable for baking and cooking. It does not cause flatulence or a feeling of fullness and serves as food for intestinal bacteria such as bifidobacteria.
Elementary for a balanced diet: dietary fiber
Dietary fibers are indigestible fibers from plant foods for humans. Although they belong to the class of carbohydrates, they do not provide the body with energy. Certain bacteria in our intestines feed on dietary fiber, which is why they can play an important role in our diet.
The German Nutrition Society (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ernährung) recommends a daily intake of at least 30 grams of dietary fiber. Dietary fiber is found in large quantities in vegetables, fruits, nuts and whole grain products.
If, for various reasons, it is no longer possible for you to take in enough fiber through your daily experience, our Fiber comes into play.
Soluble and insoluble fiber
Dietary fibers can be divided into water-soluble swelling agents and water-insoluble fillers. Soluble fiber, such as pectins, resistant starches and inulin, are found primarily in fruits and vegetables or in cooled potatoes and rice. Cellulose, an insoluble dietary fiber, is found in all plants. In contrast to water-insoluble dietary fibers, water-soluble dietary fibers can be fermented by bacteria. Intestinal bacteria in the large intestine feed on them and can form, for example, short-chain fatty acids (SCFA). SCFA include butyric acid (butyrate), acetic acid (acetate) and propionic acid (propionate).
Sustainable and ecological
The cultivation and processing of guar beans into Sunfiber® is sustainable, ecological and eco-social. Sunfiber® is produced from guar beans in Rajasthan, India. The guar beans grow in a very dry and hot climate, which is why the use of pesticides, fungicides or herbicides is not necessary. The bean is harvested by hand by local farmers and processed in a strictly controlled manner. About 50,000 farmers in Rajasthan make a living from harvesting and selling the guar bean. Taiyo, the manufacturer of Sunfiber® is committed to combating child labor.
Consume 1-3 servings daily to supplement daily fibre requirements, preferably with each meal. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.
